USGA, R&A propose rule change that would ban anchored putting stroke Nov 27th 2012, 15:35 David Dusek The USGA and R&A announced a proposed rule that will ban anchoring the club during a putting stroke. The rule does not ban long or belly putters, but does forbid any part of the club coming into contact with the body.
